Requirement: An offering sequence; published guides differ on the count, so follow unfilled circles and prompts.
Find the ritual area and read its state
The route landmark is Outskirts of Nochte, with the collection area to the southwest. The two collection references agree on blood offerings and a corpse interaction, but describe the number of offerings differently. PowerPyx says three; Gamer Guides refers to two empty circles. This page does not turn that disagreement into an unsupported universal count.
Inspect the circles that remain incomplete on your save and follow the available interaction prompts. Work on one objective at a time rather than counting enemies killed somewhere near the area. A kill in the wrong place may not demonstrate that an offering registered. Once the required state changes are complete, return to the body interaction and check the Shell menu before considering the route finished.
Unlock cost: distinguish a hint from a bond
Finding a body, revealing its location and upgrading its bond are different actions. A Shellkeeper map reveal is a navigation service; it should not be described as the purchase price of the playable Shell. The linked routes let you pursue the pickup without assuming that buying a hint completes any local fight, offering or quest interaction.
We have not verified a current per-Shell Gloom price table. Read the live reveal prompt on your installed version before spending, and compare that optional cost with your next Harbinger or equipment upgrade. We do not fill the missing table with guessed values. Tiel and Proxima already have early markers; Genessa follows a separate Censer chain.
The Week 1 official update changes the long-term resource picture and introduces Mether’s Severance for Shell resets. Old advice that assumes a permanently fixed lifetime Glimpse budget needs that patch context. Use the respec guide for the return process, and read the confirmation prompt before applying it to a bond you want to keep.
Keep the unlock puzzle separate from combat
If the body does not respond, first revisit the offering state. That is more useful than changing weapons at random or assuming the pickup requires a purchased map marker. A marker helps you find an area; it does not perform the local interaction sequence. Use the linked route references to compare landmarks, while treating the current game’s completed and incomplete prompts as the immediate evidence.
If an interaction appears genuinely stuck after the visible conditions are satisfied, note the platform and installed version and check current issue reports. Do not erase progress or assume that repeated deaths will reset the whole sequence. The purpose of the checklist is to remember what you have confirmed, not to promise a workaround for every save-state problem.
Treat Miracle as a timing experiment
The archived kit describes Miracle as a time-related fighting stance and associates extended use with a health cost. Before building around it, read the current tooltip and the upgrades you have actually unlocked. The useful starting question is how much you can accomplish during a controlled action sequence while still understanding the recovery and the cost.
Start with a short activation against an isolated target. Observe the transition into and out of the stance, then repeat with one additional action only if the first sequence is clear. Avoid learning the whole mechanic while several enemies attack from different directions. This drill is an editorial recommendation and does not supply a measured duration, damage formula or guaranteed combination.
Low-health effects are not an excuse to ignore survival
An archived passive refers to a low-health condition. That does not establish a safe default strategy for a new Smert player. Deliberately staying near defeat can make it difficult to distinguish an ability benefit from an encounter that simply went well once. Establish a repeatable defensive response at a comfortable health state before experimenting with conditional effects.
For comparisons, record whether a loss came from the stance cost, an enemy follow-up or a separate hazard. Those causes suggest different changes. Shorten the action if you cannot track its cost; improve positioning if you are attacked from outside your view; review the encounter if you repeatedly misread the same follow-up. Spending resources is most useful after you know which limitation the upgrade should address.
Smert versus Gragu for a focused session
Smert’s archived stance encourages a test of sequencing and timing; Gragu’s charged attack context encourages a test of whether you have enough space to prepare an action. Try each in the same encounter with the same weapon and difficulty settings. The better choice is the one that makes your intended exchange understandable and repeatable, not necessarily the one that produces the most dramatic isolated hit.
The Week 1 official notes include a Smert projectile interaction change, and the September update mentions summon behavior during Miracle. Old combinations can therefore have a version-dependent explanation. If a guide relies on a special interaction, match the installed patch and inspect the current tooltip before committing your resources to reproduce it. Save the test as a planner objective rather than treating an unverified combination as mandatory.
Ability names and upgrade verification
Archived active name: Miracle. Archived passive name: Deadly Revelation. Read the current in-game tooltips before assigning numbers or selecting upgrades. These names are historical context, not a freshly measured retail stat table.
Questions before you commit
Where do I unlock Smert?
Outskirts of Nochte → southwest ritual circles → blood offerings → corpse.
Is a Gloom map reveal the unlock price?
A reveal is an optional navigation hint. Complete the route’s fight, interaction or quest condition; this page does not invent an unverified reveal price.
How do I confirm the pickup?
Finish the prompted sequence and check the Shell selection screen. Reaching a search area or winning one encounter is not sufficient confirmation.
